Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal data Meetzy collects, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and the choices and rights you have. It is written to align with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act).
Draft pending legal review. This document is provided for transparency and is being finalised with legal counsel. It is not a substitute for professional legal advice. Last updated: July 2026.
Who we are
Meetzy is India’s verified activity-partner platform. We connect people to meet in person for real-world activities. For any privacy question you can reach us at support.meetzy@gmail.com.
What data we collect
We collect only what we need to run a safe, verified marketplace:
- Account data: name, email, phone number, date of birth, gender, and city.
- Identity verification data: government ID documents and a selfie/photo used to verify that a profile is a real person before it becomes visible in discovery.
- Profile content: photos, bio, activity preferences, and meeting charges you set.
- Transaction data: meetup fees and payout details, processed through our third-party payment gateway (we do not store full card numbers).
- Usage & device data: log data, approximate location (for city-based discovery), and cookies (see our Cookie Policy).
Why we use your data (purpose)
- To verify identities and keep the community safe.
- To enable discovery, proposals, chat, meetups, payments, and payouts.
- To hold meetup fees in escrow and release them after a confirmed meetup.
- To handle disputes, refunds, reports, and safety investigations.
- To comply with legal obligations and prevent fraud or abuse.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers who help us operate: our payment gateway (for transactions), our identity-verification and cloud hosting/storage providers, and communication tools — each bound to use it only for those purposes. We may disclose data where required by law or to protect user safety.
How long we keep it
We retain personal data only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law (for example, transaction records for tax/accounting). Verification documents are retained for the period needed to maintain trust and meet legal obligations, then deleted or anonymised.
Your rights
Under the DPDP Act you can:
- Access and correct your personal data.
- Request erasure of your data (subject to legal retention limits).
- Withdraw consent for optional processing.
- Raise a grievance. Contact our Grievance Officer at support.meetzy@gmail.com and we will respond within the timelines the law requires.
Security, children, and changes
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data. Meetzy is for adults only (18+); we do not knowingly collect data from minors. We may update this policy and will post changes on this page with a new “last updated” date.
